M. Dee Northington, Jr. CPA - bio

Dee began his practice of public accounting in Dallas with a prominent local firm, while a college student as a part-time staff accountant in 1970, and rose to Partner there before leaving in 1977 to begin his work as a “tax guy” Sole-Practitioner. After four years in that role, he grouped talents with five other excellent CPAs to form the Partnership that has evolved through ensuing years to its makeup at his retirement in January 2024. Dee was thrilled to “bequest” his accounting heritage to Jerry Adams and Allison Ates, the CPAs who were proven to be the most capable of all those he worked with during his lengthy career.

His fifty-four years of experience has provided to the Firm a basis of expertise in management, taxation and accounting matters, allowing service to the concerns of a diverse clientele.  Dee consulted primarily in the areas of accounting systems and taxation, and dealt with such diverse clients as physicians, dentists, attorneys, veterinarians, architects, television & appliance rentals, oil & gas investors, parts & supplies wholesaling, used car sales, general contracting, business consulting, wholesale clothing, advertising, courier services, computer programming, real estate development & operations, instrument fabrication & testing, ranching, securities investing, vending, movie production/distribution, and tax-exempt organizations.

Since all of Dee’s career was invested with only three local CPA firms, his stability has been relied upon by three generations of management, and his emphasis on solving problems of his small business clients has made the Firm the natural choice for handling issues faced by privately held business.  Dee strongly believed in providing our clients with top quality service, as our outstanding record of favorable IRS resolutions and long list of satisfied clients will affirm.
